Check an invented four-hat pack from twenty to fifteen, seventy-five percent paid and per-hat amounts within explicit scope.

A prominent seventy-five-percent-of-price sign in a comic does not establish its product, pack or time scope. Per-pack and per-hat amounts can also sit close together. This is fictional quantitative reading, not a real purchasing recommendation. Use four paper hats per pack to check original price, sale price, unit and character comparisons manually, without automatic price recognition or offer evaluation in ManYue.

## Read product and packaging scope first

Choose a panel with legible product, unit and main price, recording work, edition, chapter, position and panel while retaining small print at the sign edge. The invented Pack A contains four paper hats, original price twenty yuan and sale price fifteen yuan, all explicitly for the same pack. Record product identity, pack quantity and price unit before calculation. Do not pair a neighbouring product’s original price with A. Mark hidden units unconfirmed rather than supplying a familiar per-item convention. A character holding one hat does not establish a per-hat sign price.

## Keep the per-pack unit in the price difference

From the invented labels, twenty minus fifteen saves five yuan per pack, not per hat. Even with a struck-through original and large sale amount, verify labels instead of using type size alone. A deletion may correct a price rather than offer a discount, requiring context. Prices for different packs, dates or conditions should not be subtracted before those differences are resolved. Amounts come from supplied labels, not graphical height or coin size. Preserve product and packaging with the difference because a missing unit can invalidate the comparison.

## Interpret the sign as paying three quarters of the original

Fifteen divided by twenty is seventy-five percent. The sample’s Chinese qi-wu-zhe means paying seventy-five percent of the original, while the reduction is five divided by twenty, twenty-five percent. It is not seventy-five percent off or paying five yuan. Keep paid and reduced proportions separate; under the same original-price base they sum to one hundred percent. Interpret other languages and conventions from their actual wording rather than imposing the Chinese convention. Without an original price, sale price alone cannot determine one unique saving. Mark insufficient information instead of inventing data from a prominent percent sign.

## Derive per-hat amounts from the same pack definition

Pack A contains four hats: original average twenty divided by four is five yuan per hat, and sale average fifteen divided by four is three point seven five. The evenly allocated saving is one point two five per hat. This allocates a pack price; it does not establish separate sales. Keep stated price and calculated average distinct so three point seven five is not attributed to the sign. For mixed contents or gifts, check whether four equivalent hats is a valid premise before averaging. Unit arithmetic helps interpret comparison but evaluates neither quality, required quantity nor actual transaction terms.

## Convert another pack to the same unit before comparison

In a separate Pack B example, six hats cost eighteen yuan, averaging three per hat. B’s total eighteen exceeds A’s fifteen, while its unit three is below A’s three point seven five. These do not conflict because the units differ. A lower total does not make A cheaper per hat, and a lower unit amount is not a recommendation to buy B. The data train units only; matching products, required quantities and conditions need separate checks. Preserve labels and division for both. For a character saying cheaper, establish total versus unit meaning from context or retain ambiguity.

## Preserve small print and attribution of claims

Inspect visible conditions such as selected product, membership, second pack or date, without inventing offer rules. Locate small-print scope separately from large wording rather than treating a desired price as universally available. Under the same twenty-to-fifteen pack, a character’s saved half conflicts with the supplied one-quarter reduction. If they count gifts or other spending, obtain explicit evidence before judging; do not automatically infer lying. Attribute narration, sign and character separately. Arithmetic states support from given data, not seller or character motive.

## Check units and versions when numbers disagree

For a possible fifteen/fifty misreading, zoom back to the source rather than relying on plot expectations. Restore a cropped per-pack note from the full page; if absent in the original, mark insufficient unit information instead of adding it to the image. Record revisions that change a sign rather than silently replacing it with another screenshot. A calculated three point seven five versus displayed four need not be an arithmetic error: it could be an explicitly separate single-item price. Retain alternative explanations as candidates needing labels, not facts. Preserve unresolved differences rather than changing reader settings to make numbers agree.

## Recalculate the chain by unit after returning

Leave the reader and return to A’s four hats, twenty/fifteen prices and discount wording. Recompute five yuan saved per pack, seventy-five percent paid, twenty-five percent reduced and three point seven five per hat. Recheck B’s six for eighteen, average three, and its higher total but lower unit amount. Preserve product, packaging, original/sale prices, conditions, calculations and character interpretation without altering the sign. Completion attaches the correct unit and source to each amount without turning unknown conditions into facts. This explains one fictional comparison, not a real purchasing decision.
