Identify encrypted, multipart and nested archives, verify extraction in an appropriate external tool, then prepare a simple import copy while preserving the original archive.

A supported extension does not guarantee direct reading of every encrypted, multipart or nested variant. First identify whether several files form one archive, then prepare an independently readable copy. This workflow is for personal files you are authorised to access and for which you already have any required password.

## Identify parts by their full filenames

Show complete extensions and list every part. Repeated base names with sequential part suffixes suggest a multipart archive, but comic volume numbers mean something different. Confirm the relationship in an archive tool. Names are clues rather than proof. Record missing parts and obtain the actual originals; duplicating and renaming a different part cannot repair the set.

## Preserve the complete set first

Put all parts in one working folder with their original names, and preserve a separate untouched set. Wait for downloads to finish and check that sizes are stable. Use provided checksums when available, or at least validate the full set in your archive tool. Parts from different packaging runs may not be interchangeable even when their names look similar.

## Extract with an appropriate tool

Use an external archiver that supports the particular multipart and encryption scheme. Open the designated first part according to that tool’s instructions, enter your existing password, and extract into a new empty folder. These controls belong to the external tool. Missing-part or password errors must be resolved here before trying another ManYue import.

## Inspect what extraction actually produced

Inspect whether extraction produced page images, PDFs or another archive. Check nested archives further and separate different books into appropriate working folders. Open early, middle and final images to verify actual readability. A successful extraction message does not establish correct grouping, ordering or intact pictures.

## Build a simple reading archive

For ordinary page images, apply consistent numbering and remove unrelated helpers before creating a simple unencrypted ZIP reading copy. Avoid multipart suffixes and unfamiliar compression options. Label the derivative and retain the encrypted original separately. Access protection for the new unencrypted copy depends on its destination, so choose storage deliberately.

## Import the copy and inspect its contents

Import only the prepared copy. Verify the cover, middle, end and each chapter boundary. Compare unexpected page counts with the derivative’s directory before touching the original parts. Process the next book only after this one is understood, and keep a record linking each original archive set with its reading derivative.

## Locate any remaining failure

If extraction fails, investigate the password, missing or damaged parts and tool support. If extracted images fail, inspect their integrity and encoding. If images work but the new archive fails, check packaging and device availability. These are different problems. Changing extensions does not repair data. A self-made six-page reference can establish whether ordinary local importing still works.

## Questions and keeping originals

Can you import just the first part as a complete comic? Other parts may contain necessary data. Does renaming ZIP to CBZ remove encryption? No. Retain the original set, preparation notes and validated reading copy until your backup plan is settled. Completion requires successful original extraction and correct offline reading of the derivative. Missing passwords or parts must be resolved through your legitimate source.
