Turn a longer extract into readable quotation cards while preserving qualifications and attribution, then inspect punctuation, edges and the actual saved image.

Quotation cards can share a passage worth rereading, but shrinking the type to fit a long extract often makes it harder to read. Starting with a longer Book Isle extract, choose a sharing focus and check sentence breaks, attribution and layout. Preserve the original meaning, and reopen the actual saved image for the final check rather than relying only on the editor preview.

## Read the source qualifications first

Open the passage and read at least a paragraph before and after it. Identify what references such as “therefore,” “this situation” and “they” mean. A sentence that loses its meaning outside that context should not be shared as a self-contained argument. Record the background or choose a different complete passage instead of supplying missing context through guesswork.

Distinguish the author’s words from your explanation. Use clear omissions when shortening and avoid combining fragments into a claim the author never made. A quotation card is an output medium, not an accuracy check. Confirm faithful wording and necessary assumptions before making the card.

## Limit the focus to what one card can convey

Write one sentence describing what you want the reader to remember, then ask whether every selected line supports it. A long extract can become two individually complete cards, but do not leave an essential condition only on the companion card. Either image may circulate alone. Split according to grammar and meaning rather than equal character counts.

Put personal interpretation in a clearly identified explanation or separate sharing caption, rather than mixing it into the quotation. Do not silently remove negations, scope or tone merely to shorten the layout. Numbers, units, names and contrast words need particular attention because a small deletion can change the entire point.

## Open the card from the verified extract

Find the highlight or note in Book Isle and use the quotation-card flow actually provided. Check that the extract transferred completely, then inspect the title, author and other available information. Styles and controls can change between versions. Use visible options without assuming a particular template or automatic-layout button exists.

If the title or author comes from incorrect metadata, check and correct the book information before generating the card again. Correcting only an accompanying caption leaves the image wrong. Retain the original extract because the card is an output copy. Deleting an image does not withdraw the note, and cleaning up photos should not involve deleting the original record accidentally.

## Check the text hierarchy in reading order

Inspect the quotation first, attribution second and decoration last. Read the available style near actual phone display size rather than depending on zoom. If the text is dense, shorten the extract or split it meaningfully before adjusting available font and spacing controls. Tiny type can fit more words while making the card less useful.

Check wrapping for long book titles and author names. If attribution is cut off or pressed against an edge, try another available style or shorten supplementary fields while retaining enough source information. Any abbreviated title should map to the complete source record. Do not erase meaningful edition or translator distinctions simply to make the layout look tidier.

## Proofread punctuation and easily misread details

Compare the card with the original, reading numbers and names first, then negations, contrasts and omissions. Check paired quotation marks, sensible sentence endings and footnote markers that could be mistaken for body text. A polished layout can encourage skimming, so make one pass devoted entirely to wording.

For mixed Chinese and foreign-language text, inspect isolated punctuation or letters at line endings and ensure units cannot look like a new heading. If a current style handles a long sentence poorly, choose a shorter complete extract rather than repeatedly altering the original words to fit. Faithfulness matters more than avoiding every line break.

## Inspect the image that will actually be shared

Save through the system share panel to your chosen destination and complete the final confirmation. Reopen the image in Photos or Files. Check cropped edges, expected dimensions and whether you accidentally selected an older output. Seeing the share panel establishes only that the flow started, not that a permanent file was saved.

Read it once more at the preview size of your usual messaging context, checking both quotation and attribution. Previewing does not require sending it to another person; sending is a separate action. For long-term storage, identify outputs by book and date so similar images remain distinguishable and revisions can be compared.

## Preserve the card separately from full reading notes

Use the card for short content and retain longer context and personal analysis in the original note or a separate document. Return to the complete record for review and use the proofread image for sharing. One card does not contain the full book, every annotation or restoration data, and photo backup does not replace note backup.

For acceptance, ask whether an unfamiliar reader could identify who said what in which book without being misled by a removed condition. If not, improve attribution or select another extract. Keep the source record and checked output clearly identified so the next card starts from reliable material rather than a set of nearly identical screenshots.
