ManYue tall-image seam evidence: distinguish repeated content, gaps and loading blanks

Compare the end and start of adjacent tall images in originals and the reader to distinguish source repetition, missing content and display/loading conditions.

When dialogue repeats, a section appears missing or blank space interrupts a vertical comic, identify the exact image boundary before changing the whole book’s margins. Build an end/start evidence pair from adjacent images and compare source with reader. The output is a reproducible description and a reversible decision, not another basic mode setup or a promise of automatic reconstruction.

Identify the two images around the anomaly

Record source, chapter and the last/first recognisable scenes around the anomaly. A screenful boundary within one tall image is not necessarily a source-image seam. Locate the actual adjacent images in your authorised archive or downloaded files where possible. If originals are unavailable, limit the claim to the current path. Keep mode and scale fixed after locating the boundary so simultaneous edits do not erase the reproduction.

Inspect the first image’s bottom and the second’s top

Open the first original to its true bottom and the second from its true top. Compare dialogue, action, background lines and space, allowing for intentional recaps or chapter spacing. Record text and visual clues, substituting object positions if lettering is unreadable. Inspect before cropping away evidence. If an original cannot open completely, resolve file readability first; a partial reader display does not prove intact source data.

Establish the repeated region’s extent

For confirmed repetition record its panel boundaries and whether it is identical, redrawn or annotated. Similar poses alone are insufficient. Separate repeated whitespace from repeated story content. Preserve intentional recaps and retain originals before any authorised derivative. Do not derive a universal overlap height for the chapter from one pair; each boundary may use a different split.

Require evidence before declaring a gap

An abrupt action or unfinished dialogue raises a question, not proof of missing images. Check chapter changes, scene cuts, intentional omission and source notices, then compare a reliable same-edition reference. Without that reference label a suspected gap and its bounds. Do not invent replacement artwork or treat another translation’s page count as proof. Confirmed source loss requires a legitimate complete copy; display settings cannot recover absent images.

Compare the same boundary in the reader

Scroll slowly across the identified boundary with file and mode fixed. Wait for actual loading before distinguishing temporary placeholders from whitespace inside an image. Use supported single-image viewing as a comparison without changing margins, width and processing together. Report controls and conditions for reader-only anomalies, or source content when both agree. Anchor the report to scenes rather than only a percentage.

Keep local/remote limits explicit

Where downloading is allowed, repeat with the complete local chapter. For remote-only differences inspect delivered versions and possible recompression/resplitting. Identical names do not prove identical boundaries. Local success is one control, not certification of all routes. Mark unknown byte/split equivalence explicitly, retain working copies and avoid repeated cache wipes. Document changed conditions so old cached images and new source images are not mistaken for one result.

Recheck every modified boundary in a derivative

For verified repetition and authorised editing, make a separate derivative of only the established region with operation notes. Check one joined pair before touching others. Do not batch-crop a fixed height or remove intentional pacing space. Inspect modified boundaries plus chapter start/end after repackaging and remap references if needed. Claim only removal of confirmed repetition, not automatic whole-book repair; preserve unresolved cases to avoid creating new gaps.

Acceptance and reporting

Finish with identified images, matched original/reader boundaries, explicit certainty and reversible handling. A blank may be loading rather than source space, and repeated dialogue may be intentional. Report a minimal self-made or authorised pair with boundary clues instead of a private collection. Retain observations and unknowns from both paths: content evidence and delivery conditions are needed, not a universal promise from changing one spacing control.
