iCouldPlay conditional demonstrations: separate branch choice, stopping and completion

Follow a paper-card demonstration by its premises, checking stop and completion states instead of treating the end of playback as task success.

A visible movement does not remove a condition such as “if blue-marked, move left; otherwise leave it”. Read a harmless card demonstration in iCouldPlay and log premises, branches and termination externally. This is not interactive video or automatic marking; viewing progress and your own task state remain separate.

Prepare two explicit initial states

Use two square cards, A blue-marked and B unmarked, with left/centre desk zones. Record or select permitted material stating the rule and showing each case, preserving file and wording. Paper placement is recoverable and involves no real settings, payment or deletion. For existing courses, establish clear scope without substituting the paper example’s harmless assumptions for a risky procedure.

Preserve the condition and else scope

Use this rule: if a blue dot is clearly visible, move left; otherwise keep centre. If occluded/unclear, pause judgement rather than treat it as absent. Keep present, absent and unknown states distinct, preserving negatives and scope. Compare narration, captions and labels and mark omitted unknown-state handling instead of attributing your familiar rule to the author.

Record the state before each example

Before each action, record identity, start location, mark visibility and hand occlusion. A card ending left does not prove its initial blue dot. Log B independently and retain object changes/cuts rather than assume continuity. Time helps location but cannot replace content; ordinary pause is neither frame locking nor an event log.

Select each branch from evidence

A should move left and B remain central; obscured marks stay unresolved. Record premise, branch and evidence rather than only answers. Leaving a card still is a required outcome, not an omitted step. If B moves, preserve the mismatch and inspect additional conditions/identity without silently changing the copied rule to make the video correct.

Define stopping separately from success

Success means A left, B central with identities preserved. Stopping may mean the required result has been reached, or instead unclear marks or missing material. Record which reason actually applies. Pause, end credits and hands leaving frame are not success. Keep a separate stop-reason field and mark reading-only if no physical task was done. Preserve any failure-exit conditions and prohibitions without turning “stop; do not continue” into a sequence to resume.

Check the shown outcome rather than an assurance

Play through stable outcomes, checking complete placement and B’s unchanged position even when narration says done. A cropped second card remains unverified. Record possible resets/other takes without inferring intent. A clearer self-recorded revision is separate evidence; do not overwrite the earlier observation.

Use a countercheck for missed premises

In an external paper variant, give B a blue dot: it now follows the move-left branch because the premise changed. Cover A’s mark and judgement becomes unknown/stopped, not absent. Change one condition without changing the completion criteria, renaming regions or editing the cited video. Repeating old answers indicates a premise-reading gap better checked directly than by endless full replays.

Keep your own execution separately

If doing the paper task, pause video and apply the recorded rule, then note your own final positions. Your result does not validate the speaker’s demonstration or vice versa. Keep identities/initial states for both and unknowns unresolved. Reading-only is valid when execution is unavailable. Watched progress cannot overwrite an unverified learning branch.

Return to the premise for a traceable conclusion

Reopen the same file at its rule, recheck conditions, unknown handling, branches and stop reasons before outcomes. Separate source rule, demonstration, judgement and optional execution without app recognition, branch execution or learning validation claims. Preserve originals and append correction reasons. Explain branch choice and why a stop may not mean success; no exhaustive device or automated course acceptance test was performed.

Checked on November 8, 2026 against the official iCouldPlay App Store listing and Apple public lookup: version 1.1.1, requiring iOS / iPadOS 15.0 or later. The public 1.1.1 release notes list Kodi, OpenList / AList and S3-compatible storage, with improvements to source switching and captions after seeking. The tasks use this public scope and existing playback capabilities. Check controls in your installed version. Self-made samples, manual records and external file preparation are workflows, not newly promised automatic features. No physical-device or private-server test is claimed.
