iCouldPlay mirrored recordings: separate screen directions from the subject’s own sides

Inspect directions with text and an asymmetric marker, distinguishing saved media from camera preview without assuming a horizontal-flip control.

The hand raised in a selfie may not be the side a viewer assumes. Establish references and possible mirroring before copying an action. Inspect a marked self-recording without requiring iCouldPlay to flip it or inferring orientation from handedness.

Prepare text and an asymmetric marker

Write TEST on paper and add a star at the front upper-left corner, then record lifting, turning and replacing it. Preserve paper and saved original without using private documents. Define the marked corner relative to a person facing the paper. Use familiar recording settings without searching for unknown mirror switches. The sample must distinguish text orientation and corner identity.

Name three directional references

Keep screen-left, subject-left and paper-front-left distinct. A facing person’s left can appear screen-right without mirroring. Showing the paper’s back also changes visible corner relationships. Establish face, reference and viewpoint before every claim; if the subject’s own sides cannot be identified, retain screen-position descriptions only.

Inspect text in the saved original

Import the saved original and play a clear, unobscured front-facing text interval. Record ordinary TEST order and star corner. Camera-preview memory cannot replace saved-file evidence because those paths may differ. Wait through oblique blur and record file, anchor and face. Rotating the device changes viewing orientation without proving horizontal mirroring of the media.

Track the marker rather than handedness

Track the same physical starred corner through lifting and replacement rather than renaming it by screen side. Turning the paper around its vertical axis changes which face is visible. Subject turns, paper rotation and image mirroring differ. Do not infer a hand from usual handedness or a selfie-like appearance. Combine text and asymmetry, checking the back face first when they seem inconsistent.

Identify other copies before comparing

If an explicitly horizontally flipped copy already exists, name it separately and record tool/action before comparing the same anchor. Otherwise the original-only check suffices. A crop or rotation is not a mirror control. Preserve both and describe observed differences without attributing editing to iCouldPlay or presenting a processed copy as the camera original.

Attach instructions to the right reference

For “move left”, specify speaker-left, an arrow or screen-left. Keep ambiguity instead of copying an action from a mirroring guess; a paper card can restate the observed movement without risk. Overlay arrows/text may be added later and need not share the camera image’s transformation. Keep text, hand and marker evidence distinct rather than base the whole instruction on one word.

Exclude back-face and translucent views

Reversed text can come through thin paper or a mirror rather than a flipped file. Revisit paper faces, mirror boundaries, subject turns and available recording notes. Report reversed text with an unresolved cause when needed. Do not generate a corrected screenshot as original evidence; label any separately saved processing explicitly.

Revisit the same orientation anchor

Reopen the same file and revisit clear text plus a turn boundary, checking reference labels. Verify same-name processed copies when changing sources before blaming random display changes. Restore normal orientation and full-image view without cropping evidence away. Use only visible controls; a horizontal-flip feature is unnecessary and is not assumed.

Keep orientation evidence rather than guesses

Keep identity, paper references, text, marker route, viewpoint changes and unresolved causes. State supported directions versus explanations without automatic mirror detection or reconstructed real space. Share only your nonsensitive sample and necessary description. Recheck preview/saved relationships for each new recording instead of generalising to all devices; no device-camera acceptance test was performed.

Checked on November 8, 2026 against the official iCouldPlay App Store listing and Apple public lookup: version 1.1.1, requiring iOS / iPadOS 15.0 or later. The public 1.1.1 release notes list Kodi, OpenList / AList and S3-compatible storage, with improvements to source switching and captions after seeking. The tasks use this public scope and existing playback capabilities. Check controls in your installed version. Self-made samples, manual records and external file preparation are workflows, not newly promised automatic features. No physical-device or private-server test is claimed.
