ManYue cutaway scenes: distinguish explanatory layers from transparent objects
Check sections, dashed lines, explanatory arrows and character responses without treating exposed interiors as character-visible or schematic proportions as manufacturing data.
On this page
A comic may show exterior and interior together to explain an object without making it transparent within the story. Examine a toy or fictional device cutaway in ManYue and distinguish explanatory layers from depicted action. This is reading, not real disassembly, and assumes no cutaway generation, interior vision or engineering validation by the app.
Choose a diagram requiring no real operation
Choose an authorised completed toy, box or explicitly fictional device, recording work, edition, chapter, diagram title and explanatory wording location. Exclude medical, electrical and repair procedures and do not open a real object. Inspect the whole figure and surrounding dialogue for cutaway, transparent casing, exploded view or imagination. If unspecified, retain uncertainty rather than classifying from visible interior alone. Start with one small figure and its connection to the story, not an isolated online crop explaining the entire scene.
Inventory exterior and interior separately
Assign provisional labels to casing, cavity, visible parts and connectors, with positions and shapes before functions. A circle need not be a gear or a tube carry liquid; use neutral descriptions without labels. Check enclosure, omitted outline segments and parts exceeding it. A personal sketch may help if marked approximate and not to scale. An inventory prevents unshown parts and your mechanical assumptions from becoming supposedly author-provided information.
Inspect conventions for sections, dashes and arrows
Find section shading, hatching, dashes, numbers and a legend, recording actual explanations rather than imposing technical-drafting conventions. Dashes may mark hidden edges, routes or emphasis; arrows may label instead of indicating motion. An invented casing with its right half omitted and labelled interior schematic supports explanatory exposure, not literal disappearance of that half. Without wording, retain alternatives from adjacent panels. Record an off-page legend separately and do not substitute another companion source’s conventions unconditionally.
Check whether characters actually see the interior
Check opening the casing, looking through material or acting on internal locations, separately from explanatory narration. Reader-visible components do not establish that a character knows a fault location. Retain explicit transparent-material or special-vision rules within completed content. Silence alone cannot prove a purely explanatory image. Separate reader-visible, character-visible and unknown information, avoiding omniscient knowledge imposed on behaviour or a cutaway treated as real-world evidence of seeing through solids.
Distinguish exploded, sectioned and transparent states
For separated floating parts, check an exploded explanation before calling them flying debris. Identify a depicted cut surface and record where the section passes, rather than naming omitted material a cavity. Transparent casings may retain full boundaries and occlusion, requiring legend checks. These methods may combine, with support for each layer. Describe representation without deriving physical spacing, capacity or area from the screen. Mark unspecified proportions schematic; detailed drawing does not supply missing measurement conditions.
Compare an ordinary exterior of the same object
Find a completed ordinary view in the same edition and compare casing, openings and named parts. Explain enlargement, simplification or viewpoint changes before judging mismatched shapes. A different model or imagined design cannot automatically describe the object in use. One relation, such as an opening connected to an interior route, suffices; do not validate the entire mechanism’s operation. Keep represented information apart from external knowledge and leave unknown functions unresolved.
Save diagram and story references, then return
Save supported references or an external locator for diagram, legend and ordinary view, including numbers and a distinctive phrase. Leave and return to each, confirming same edition and object rather than a similar model. Preserve spread relationships and full-page identity for crops. Recheck labels and omissions after source changes without promising automatic coordinate mapping. Discuss authorised commentary or your approximate sketch, not a distributed volume or real manufacturing/repair instructions.
Finish explanatory-layer boundaries and common checks
Finish with casing, cavity, omitted material, legend support and character-knowledge scope. Visible interiors may be explanatory, exploded spacing may aid identification rather than measurement, and omitted material need not be a hole. Keep alternatives when evidence is insufficient instead of editing certainty into the source. State what the figure explains in the prose and what remains unsupported, making the explanatory relationship recoverable without treating it as technical certification.

Checked on November 6, 2026: Apple public version information lists ManYue 2.0.4, requiring iOS / iPadOS 15.0 or later. Feature scope follows the official App Store description and the installed version. This article provides reading and checking methods you can perform; it does not claim step-by-step physical-device or private-server testing.
