ManYue instructional-comic reading: audit step states and missing conditions
Use a low-risk paper example to check materials, before/after states and the result, separating omitted steps, viewpoint changes and reader additions.

Drawn instructions do not guarantee that every necessary condition is stated. Use an authorised paper-folding or organising comic in ManYue to log what changes between panels. Choose material requiring no blades, heat or other hazardous operations. Physical practice is optional and external; the app provides no assumed action recognition, automatic correction or completion certification.
Define the task and material conditions
Choose a short low-risk instruction with an identifiable result and record edition, chapter and promised task. Log paper shape, sides, starting orientation and any stated dimensions, marking absent information unknown rather than author-required. Avoid food, medication, electrical or repair tasks. Read everything before optionally practising, without immediately substituting missing materials. A state log alone is sufficient; the aim is instruction checking rather than mandatory production.
Record the input state and action of each step
Number the original sequence and log each input state and explicit action. Use observable descriptions such as fold toward centre or turn over, not actions inferred backward from the result. Check arrow and line conventions: dashes may denote folds, guides or hidden edges. Separate multiple actions in one panel instead of forcing one panel per step. Record wording or visual support so later gaps can be located precisely.
Compare each output with the next input
Log edges, facing side, creases or object count at the end of a panel and compare the next starting state. In an invented front-up to back-up transition, seek a turnover instruction; absent evidence suggests an omission rather than proving authorial error. A shifted viewpoint may mimic a flip, so check stable marks. Leave hidden states unknown rather than adding undrawn folds to make the original appear complete.
Check turning over, rotating and mirroring separately
Distinguish in-plane rotation, turning over and viewing from another side rather than calling all of them a turn. A personal corner mark can help, labelled as your aid rather than an original condition. For conflicting arrows and left/right appearance, inspect full-panel start and endpoint instead of rotating the device to change the instruction. Stop and consult existing author guidance if unresolved. Your eventual successful action must not be retroactively attributed to the original text.
Check dimensions and counts through the sequence
Track sheet count, matching edges and stated proportions. If the material list specifies one sheet but the finished drawing looks like two sheets joined together, check intermediate unfolding or overlap before adding a second sheet. A fold expresses a geometric relation, but the drawing may not be to scale; screen centimetres do not measure fold error. Preserve stated units and verify blurred numbers at the source. Unspecified dimensions permit a schematic result, not an invented scale or a guarantee for every paper.
Keep personal additions in a separate practice note
If practising with low-risk materials, record additions such as locating a midpoint or rotating half a turn as your attempts. Check whether they bridge the gap without declaring a unique solution. Untested suggestions can remain explicitly untested. Avoid repeated waste to prove completeness or blaming every first failure on ability. Separate author excerpts from personal notes and identify both when sharing, so an incomplete retelling does not make reproduction harder.
Revisit decisive transitions and the result
Keep supported references or an external log for materials, doubtful transitions and the result, with panels and landmarks. Leave the reader and return through the original sequence, checking that your notes have not missed small print or cross-page instructions. Compare only the promised visible result, not extra aesthetic demands. Match sides and edges before judging a changed final viewpoint. Preserve the file instead of deleting or rearranging awkward steps. Keep suggestions separate from any actual author-issued revision.
Finish a recoverable step conclusion
Finish with input, action and output for each step plus missing conditions and checked locations. A matching result may rely on reader-supplied actions; an apparently reversed arrow may involve viewpoint or turnover. Leave unresolved steps unknown and do not pursue hazardous trials. State which portions are clear and the one most useful clarification, scoped to this sample. Reading access and navigation do not establish operational reliability without complete conditions.
