Reading and organisation
Organise ManYue shelves: to read, reading and finished
Create a few stable shelf groups, distinguish moving, copying, removing from a group and deleting a comic, then verify the result with samples.

A useful shelf helps you know what to read next, rather than placing every book in as many categories as possible. ManYue provides bookshelf groups, history, and to-read management. For newly imported personal comics, a simple To Read → Reading → Finished workflow covers most needs. Add subject groups as the library grows.
Distinguish groups from file locations first
Bookshelf groups are collection relationships inside the app, not physical folders in Files. A work in two groups does not necessarily mean two comic files; removing it from one group does not necessarily delete all local content. Read the menu action first to determine whether it affects group membership, a bookshelf record, or the actual comic file.
For your first organizing session, choose three to five samples rather than the entire library. Note their original groups and retain the source comic files. Some batch features require premium access. If your account lacks them, organize books individually; the example does not require handling every book at once.
Create a few clearly defined groups
Create To Read, Reading, and Finished from the bookshelf's group controls. Keep names short and stable. Reuse similar existing groups instead of creating nearly identical ones. Record each group's purpose in your organizing notes and define when to move books—for example, Reading after starting and Finished after confirming the final chapter is complete.
A second dimension is subject or purpose, such as Drawing Reference or Short Works. These can coexist with reading status, but avoid combining both into unwieldy names. Add a group only to solve an actual finding problem, not to complete an imagined taxonomy with empty folders. More groups mean more work checking omissions and duplicate relationships.
Use Move and Copy for different purposes
Select a sample book on the shelf and inspect Move to Bookshelf Group and Copy to Bookshelf Group. To move it from To Read to Reading, normally choose Move and verify that its old group membership changed as intended. To also include it in Drawing Reference, copy it to that group to express the second purpose.
After an action, inspect the destination group and return to the original to confirm the change. Do not assume all content sources support identical actions. For multi-selection, verify the count and titles so items selected outside the current filter are not handled accidentally. After bulk organization, sample at least two works from different original groups.
Use sorting and search to find books
When a group grows long, narrow it with search before creating more categories. For manual ordering, use the reorder control as instructed. Reordering changes the list display, not chapter or page order inside a comic. If you only want recently added local content, use the local list's name or time sorting rather than maintaining a permanent Recently Added group.
Continue Reading and history help return quickly to a recent position; groups express your longer-term organization. Do not rely on history as your only collection record, since clearing it or changing devices may alter what appears. Important works should have an explicit group and a separately saved original file.
At the end of each organizing session, make this week's two or three books easy to find. Keep long-term archives stable so opening the shelf presents fewer, clearer choices.
Example: turn ten study books into a weekly reading list
Suppose you have ten authorized short study documents. Put all in To Read, then move the two you genuinely plan to read this week into Reading. Copy one containing composition examples into Drawing Reference too. After finishing a book at the weekend, move its status to Finished while preserving its reference-group membership.
This separates reading status from purpose. If Reading later accumulates abandoned books, revise priorities rather than adding vague groups such as Possibly Reading. These status names are your organizational convention; manually moving a book to Finished does not mean the app verified that every page was read.
Checks before deletion and completion criteria
Remove from Current Group, Remove from Bookshelf, and Delete Comic act at different levels. Read the confirmation dialog; cancel and check if necessary. For reclassification, move the item or remove its membership rather than deleting the local comic. Before deleting a group, confirm that its works remain accessible elsewhere.
Does copying into another group use twice the storage?
Copying between groups expresses membership. Two identical covers do not by themselves prove there are two files. Inspect local comics and download records to distinguish list relationships from content copies. To free storage, use storage controls rather than deleting groups arbitrarily.
Why will a saved bookshelf item not open offline?
A saved bookshelf record helps you find a work but does not prove that its pages are on the device. Complete a supported download or import for remote items, then test offline. Organization and offline preparation are separate checks; neither replaces the other.
