VectorPaint is a vector drawing and SVG editing app for iPhone and iPad. Use a pen tool, shapes, editable paths, layers and text to make logos, icons, illustrations and posters. Its English App Store title is “VectorPaint: Drawing & SVG”.
What it is useful for
- Geometric icons and logos. Begin with simple shapes, then organise fills, strokes, alignment and distribution.
- SVG path editing. Import an SVG and adjust its curves, paths and outlines with Bézier nodes.
- Illustration and layout. Manage objects with layers and groups, and combine gradients, masks, text and patterns.
- Image tracing. Import an image, inspect the vectorisation preview and generate editable paths.
- Delivery files. Choose SVG, PDF or PNG for the task and keep an editable VectorPaint original.
For a first project, try an icon made from circles and rectangles: create a shape-based icon and export an SVG.
Tracing and exporting are different
If you import a photo and immediately export SVG, the photo may still be embedded as a raster image. To obtain editable paths, use image vectorisation and inspect the result. Line drawings, logos and flat-colour art are often more suitable tracing sources. Photos are quantised according to the selected colour count, so the result depends on the original image.
SVG and PDF can contain both vector paths and raster elements. Describe the actual contents when delivering a file; the extension alone does not establish that everything is vector. PNG is a pixel image, with a transparent-background option.
Keep your work organised
Drawing and project management are based on local files and can be used offline. Groups, tags, favourites, undo, redo, versions, recently deleted items and backups help manage work in progress. Keep the editable original alongside the finished file you share.
Common questions
What can VectorPaint make?
Vector illustrations, logos, icons, SVG edits and graphic layouts. For brush-based drawing, watercolour-style marks and pixel layers, see Aquarell.
Can I export a transparent PNG?
Yes. Choose a transparent background when exporting PNG, and check that no solid background object covers the canvas. The transparency option does not delete a background shape you drew.
Is everything in an exported SVG a vector?
Not necessarily. SVG can retain raster elements from a project. Exporting does not automatically turn every image into paths.
Can I use it offline?
Drawing and local project management work offline. Sending a result to an online service or fetching assets from the internet requires a connection.
Version and sources
Checked on 22 October 2026: the China App Store listed 1.0.7, requiring iOS or iPadOS 17.0 or later. This introduction uses the VectorPaint App Store page, Apple’s public lookup API and feature entry points. It does not claim physical-device testing.
